Covid Safety Policies and Procedures

Face Coverings Required

All teachers, staff and students will be required to wear a face covering that covers the nose and mouth at all times while in the studio.  We will provide all students with a complementary TDF bandana but they may wear whatever face covering they feel most comfortable in. Disposable face masks will be available for purchase for any student who forgets to bring one.  Our teachers and staff will be taking steps to ensure everyone's safety and comfort while wearing masks, and will be abiding by the following:

  1. Regularly checking in with dancers to make sure they are breathing well. Our back bay doors will be open during all classes and dancers can step outside at any time to remove their mask and catch their breath if needed.

  2. Giving dancers frequent and regular breaks for water.

  3. Adjusting class plans to accommodate for mask wearing

Zoom Option

If your dancer has a respiratory or other condition that prevents them from wearing a mask you may still participate in class via Zoom.  All studios will have large TVs installed so that classes and teachers will be ready to include students participating through Zoom.  Additionally, we ask that if any student is feeling sick, they take class from home via zoom instead of coming to the studio.

Before Leaving Home

  • Health- Students and parents must check for health. Take an honest and stringent check for any physical signs of illness.

  • Bathrooms- Use the bathroom and thoroughly wash hands.

  • Get Dressed- Put on your dance attire.  No changing will be allowed at the studio.

  • Pack Lightly- Bring only bare necessities/essential items with you.

Arriving at the Studio

  • Wait in your car- Stay in your car until a few minutes before your class.  Dancers will be checked in 1-by-1 beginning a few minutes before class.

  • Temperature check, sanitize, distance- Students will have their temperature checked, sanitize their hands and be led to a spot in class to keep themselves and their belongings.

During Class

  • Restroom use will be limited.  Restrooms are a higher risk space so we’re asking families to help us keep the restroom use to emergencies only.

  • Students will be reminded not to touch their face. We will hand sanitize frequently.

  • Our dance floors will be marked with distancing squares to keep dancers more than 6 feet apart at all times.

  • Instructors have adjusted class plans to include: no shared props, no partner work, no high fives or hugs (but lots of verbal encouragement).

After Class

  • Students will collect items, hand sanitize, and be dismissed through the bay doors on the back side of the studio.

  • Each classroom will go through an immediate disinfecting process between each class with a hospital and food grade disinfectant.

Closed Areas

  • Office and front desk- Assistance will be available through email and phone.

  • Lobbies- No dancers, parents or visitors will be allowed to wait in the lobbies.  An outside area will be made available for dancers waiting between classes.

  • Cubbies- Dancers must keep any belongings with them in the dance room.

  • Drinking Fountain- Dancers are asked to bring their own full water bottles with them to class.

Ongoing Efforts

  • Lobby windows, studio doors and garage/bay door will remain open during class times to create constant airflow through the studio.

  • No more than 10 dancers will be enrolled in class in order to allow for distancing.

  • Staff health and safety policies in place.

  • No direct physical contact between staff or students.

  • Zoom option available for students feeling sick or unable to attend in-person class.
